Future Development
The project will be delivered in stages to ensure minimal disruption. In the first stage, the new aquatic facility will be constructed while the existing 50m pool and ice-skating rink remain operational.
Yes, a new indoor aquatic facility will be built as part of stage 1, which will include a café, splash pad, learn to swim area, toddlers’ swimming area, leisure swimming area, an 8 lane 25m lap pool, program pool with relaxation area, steam and sauna room and outdoor area with water play/splash pad and entertainment area.
Yes, this arrangement will remain the same as the current facilities. The new aquatic facility will be available for the public to use and enjoy.
In addition to the public carparking already provided across the road, stage 1 of the development application will include 54 visitor/staff car parks.
The development has been designed to comply with the requirements set out in the Territory Plan 2023.
The operating hours for the Phillip Swimming and Ice-Skating Centre are available on the website for the 2024/2025 season.
